Over 50,000 Manipuri youths studying outside Manipur

Imphal, May 7 (UNI) Over 50,000 Manipuri youths were studying in other states and going abroad for studies every month.

The parents were spending more than Rs 50 crores for their children, who were studying outside the state.

The matter came to light during a discussion by students' bodies of Manipur today.

Board of secondary education secretary P H Nandakumar said the number of students appearing in matriculation examination were decreasing every year. He appealed to all parents to let their children study in Manipur as all facilites were available in the state.

Manipur University vice-chancellor Prof Amuba said all examinations were held on schedule and more courses were being introduced in the state.
