Heat wave conditions to continue for next 48 hours in India

Pune, May 7 (UNI) Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Haryana. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in Jammu, Madhya Pradesh and in some parts of Jharkhand, west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, north madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha and remaining parts of Rajasthan and Haryana and is expected to continue for the next 48 hours.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, south madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Orissa and Gujarat and were above normal in some parts of Marathwada, Kerala and remaining parts of Vidarbha.

They were appreciably below normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, interior Orissa and south Chattisgarh and were below normal in some parts of Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and Konkan.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in West Bengal and Sikkim and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, south madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and mainly dry weather will prevail over west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, north madhya Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Chattisgarh and north interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at few places in Assam and Meghalaya, and at isolated places in Madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.
