Germany's Volker AG enters Indian healthcare market

New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) Volker AG, Germany's new generation hospital furniture manufacturer, is entering the Indian health market in a big way with its most innovative and advanced technology hospital and healthcare beds.

The company has appointed a Delhi-based hospital furniture company, VKS Surgicals, as their Indian representative, to market these high-end beds to various Spas, Luxury Hospitals and Wellness Centres all over India by setting up a network of distributors throughout the country.

''Volker's vision is to offer occupants a life of dignity despite growing immobility, to provide nursing staff with as much relief of work as possible and to offer investors a medical product with little maintenance effort and low add-on costs'', Volker AG Export Head Dorian Klusmann said while his recent visit to India.

''With medical tourism all set to enter India, there's a recent surge in the number of corporate hospitals coming up. Moreover, the Indian consumer is now more aware and concerned about the best of medical services and is willing to pay for the high-end medical equipments. There's already a market for high-end medical equipment'', VKS Surgicals Managing Director Vijay Anand said.

Mr Anand has an experience of more than three decades in the medical field.

With a turnover of 57 million Euros, Volker is the domestic market leader in the healthcare beds segment with a market share of 60 per cent. With its subsidiaries and distributors in 23 countries worldwide, it's export share comprises 40 per cent of sales volume.

Volker beds are 'hygienically smart' and are easy to repair and spray disinfect. They facilitate decentralised cleaning and disinfection. They are fully operational even when disconnected from the main supply.

Volker has also brought its most recent innovation to India: MiS(r) Micro-stimulation System for pressure sore prevention.

It is made up of three spring components that together respond dynamically and ultra-sensitively to reduce pressure and maximise comfort.

With the Volker MiS, a huge number of butterfly springs are distributed over the entire lying surface, which are removable and freely adjustable on flexible support profiles. The support profiles are connected to the sides of the lying surface by means of suspension units. Inside the suspension units, there is a TPE module that both fixes the unit to the aluminum frame and gently dampens excessive compression under heavy loads.
