Freedom fighter Purshottam Chapalgaonkar passes away

Aurangabad, May 7 (UNI) Freedom fighter Purushottam Narayan Chapalgaonkar (95) died of old age here today.

Mr Chapalgaonkar is survived by two sons--former justice Narendra Chapalgaonkar and advocate Sudhakar Chapalgaonkar and daughter Usha Deshpande.

Born on November 11, 1911, Purushottam Chapalgaonkar had actively participated in the freedom struggle since 1938.

He was imprisoned for 14 months at the Harsul central jail, here for taking part in the 1948 Hyderabad Mukti Sangram.
