CBI findings against Chautala family be made public
Dabwali, Sirsa, May 7: Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Urban Employment Kumari Selja today said all findings of the CBI's investigation into the property of former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala and members of his family should be made public so that the people know the truth.
Replying to the questions of mediapersons here, she said the CBI was an independent agency and neither the state nor the Central governments could interfere in its functioning.
The state government had never undertaken any task with political political vendetta.
The Congress party had strong faith in democratic system and it would not interfere in any investigation being conducted by any agency, she added.
She was in town to attend the condolence meeting organised to mourn the death of Congress leader Chand Singh Brar. She also redressed the grievances of the people of the area.
In reply to a question regarding the murder of Chand Singh Brar, she said the state police had been looking into the whole issue and the government would not interfere with the investigation which was being done impartially.
In reply to a question regarding National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, she said Rs 15,000 crore would be spent under the scheme in the whole country during the current financial year.
The government intended to benefit a maximum number of people in the country, she added.
