8 killed, 15 injured in road accident

Bareilly, May 7 (UNI) At least eight people were killed on the spot and 15 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and truck on the Bareilly-Lucknow national highway in Fatehganj (East) area of the district.

Police said the accident occurred near Simra village when the Uttar Pradesh roadways bus enroute to Shahjahanpur, collided with a truck coming from Lucknow.

The deceased were identified as Praveen, Gudia, Satish Kumar, Devesh Chandra, Kamrul Nishan, Rakesh Mishra, Ramesh Chandra and Buddhu.

The injured including drivers of both the vehicles had been admitted to the district hospital.
