2 killed, 4 injured in factional clash

Kohima, May 7 (UNI) At least two Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) cadres were killed and four others injured in an encounter with NSCN-IM cadres at Phek village under Phek district.

Official sources said the NSCN-IM cadres entered the village in the early hours yesterday and attacked about a dozen FGN cadres sleeping in a house.

One FGN cadre died on the spot while another succumbed to his injures on way to the hospital.

Four injured cadres were admitted in the Phekicivil Hospital.

The bodies were later handed over to the relatives, sources said.

Police rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. The situation is tense but under control, the sources added.
