SMA president files petition for missing names in voters list

Siliguri, May 6 (UNI) Siliguri Merchant's Association (SMA) President Bhagawati Prasad Dalmia today filed a petition in Siliguri sub-divisional court alleging that names of ten of his family members were missing in the voters list.

Mr Dalmiya submitted that after the sub-divisional electorate officer was informed names of his two sons were enlisted but names of other family members were still missing.

He alleged that his mother Buddhidevi Dalmia had enlisted as expired voter.

Mr Dalmia's advocate Sandip Mandal alleged that preparing a voter list was a long drawn process and even after completion of the procedure it was seen that a lot of names were missing.

Mr Mandal said the case has been filed against the Electorate Registration Officer, District Megistrate of Darjeeling and State of West Bengal.

Mr Mandal alleged that even after written complaints before the Election Commission after obtaining the final list on April 20, there was no fruitful result.
