Nischol brothers' police custody extended till May nine
Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) A local court today extended the police custody of veteran actor Navin Nischol and his brother Praveen, arrested on charges of abetting the suicide of Navin's wife Geetanjali, till May nine.
Nischol brothers were produced before Bandra Chief Metropolitan Magistrate J B Pankhe this morning and the prosecution sought their further custody as the investigation is under way.
The brothers were arrested on April 28 on the basis of prima facie findings of the suicide note recovered from Geetanjali's Mahim residence on April 22.
In the suicide note, she blamed Navin her husband of torturing her at the behest of his brother Praveen and his drinking habits which led her to take the extreme step.
On April 22, Geetanjali committed suicide in her house hanging from a fan.
