Mudassar Nazar appointed director of National Cricket Academy

Lahore, May 6 (UNI) Mudassar Nazar will open a new innings as the Director of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) named the former Test opener for the post.

After its meeting here yesterday, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan announced Mudassar as the new NCA Director and hopes that all regional academies would begin functioning as early as possible.

The PCB chief revealed Intikhab Alam, Mushtaq Muhammad and Jalaluddin were also in the fray for the NCA job but in the end Mudassar got the nod.

''He is the best choice among the lot and we believe he'll be doing his best to groom the talent at an early stage,'' the PCb chief said of the former player who has played 76 Tests and 122 ODIs.
