Liquor meant for distribution among voters seized, 15 held
Pondicherry, May 6 (UNI) Excise department officials have seized 4,000 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, meant for distribution among voters, from different places in Pondicherry, and arrested 15 people in this connection, officials sources said.
Several squads of the excise department carried out checks and seized the liquor bottles, stored for supply among voters, deputy collection (excise) R Anbazhagan, in a release here today said.
Meanwhile, police registered a case against an Independent candidate at Orleanpet on charges of deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of his rival DMK candidate, in violation of the model code of conduct.
