Jamshedpur, May 6 (UNI) With the announcement of contesting for the post of president of Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) by the state Home and Sports Minister Sudesh Mahto, the biennial election of JSCA, slated to be held in Bokaro on May 14, will have an interesting climax.

Brushing aside all speculations, Mr Mahto yesterday confirmed that he would be contesting for the top post of the state cricket body and would file his nomination at JSCA office here tomorrow, the last date of filing nomination papers.

On the other hand, the incumbent president of JSCA Amitabh Choudhary, Inspector General of Police, had already filed his nomination along with his team on April 30.

After announcemet of Mr Mahto's candidature for the post of the president, Mr Choudhary reportedly said he was not going to withdraw while Mr Mahto backed by a leading corporate house and a large number of supporters, including the members of JSCA, and political leaders, had extended their support, is all set to contest the election.

Meanwhile, the Sports Department of Tata Steel had accorded felicitation at the JRD Tata Sports complex to Mr Mahto, who arrived here from Ranchi this evening.
