FICCI delegation to participate in 'Agritech 2006' in Israel
New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) today announced it is taking a business delegation to participate in 'Agritech 2006', the 16th International Agriculture Exhibition in Israel, from May 9-11, 2006.
The huge delegation will have representatives from various corporates like ICICI, Mahindra, Pepsi Foods, ITC, DCM Shriram, NCDEX, MCX, State Bank of India (Agri-Business Division), Monsanto India, Yes Bank, Jain Irrigations, Modi Group, Emergent Genetics, Plastro Plasson India and Satnam Overseas.
Besides this, a large government delegation headed by Union Minister for Agriculture, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sharad Pawar, will also be visiting Israel during the same period for signing important agreements on agriculture.
The delegation would be participating in various business meetings with major corporates and chambers of commerce in Israel, including Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute, Israeli Asia Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Israeli Chamber of Commerce.
Moreover, the one-to-one business meetings between Indian and Israeli companies will open doors for more joint ventures, investment, and technology transfer.
The delegation is also expected to visit some of the important food processing and dairy units looking at the possibility of technology transfer to India.
It will also visit Netafim, a global leader in the field of innovative irrigation-based solutions and water technologies.
Besides this, the entourage will also visit Jordan Valley Water Association, a project which highlights a new system of computerised water management and control of production, supply and irrigation involving private plants and two separate regional water projects.
The Indian Embassy at Israel is organising Israel India Business Forum which will be addresses by Mr Pawar.
Apart from Mr Pawar, Dr Amit Mitra would also be addressing the forum.
FICCI-Task Force on Agriculture (Member) and Water Committee and Executive Director Chairman Pepsi Foods Pvt Ltd Abhiram Seth would be presenting a paper on Private Sector Perspectives on Business Opportunities in Indian Agriculture.
