DMDK election office gutted in fire in Pondy

Pondicherry, May 6 (UNI) The election office of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) candidate Solomon at Nellithoppe constituency was gutted in a fire early today.

According to fire service sources, people in the nearby areas noticed fire in the thatched shed and informed them.

Fire tenders from Gorimedu extinguished the flames. The cause of the fire was not known.

Meanwhile, Mr Solomon lodged a complaint with the Gorimedu police that someone had set fire to the office out of political vendetta.

Police are investigating.
