Charlotte, May 6 (UNI) An erratic Daniel Chopra dropped a trio of bogeys over four holes in his front nine and went two-over 74 in the rain-truncated second round of the Wachiova Championship here.

The Indian-born Swede started on back nine and after three par shots, proved unlucky at 13 where he dropped the first bogey of the day and a birdie on the 14th was little consolation as he stumbled on back-to-back bogeys on the 15th and 16th.

His return journey was slightly better with birdies on the second and ninth which, however, were negated by the bogeys on third and seventh holes.

American Bo Van Pelt surged into a three-shot lead ahead of former US Open champion Jim Furyk with a record-equalling eight-under 64 at the Quail Hollow Club to finish on a tournament best aggregate of 10-under 134.
