Cruise liner on fire off SE England--Sky TV

LONDON, May 6 (Reuters) A cruise liner with 708 passengers and crew aboard was on fire 20 miles off the southeast England town of Eastbourne early today, Sky TV reported.

The fire was located in the ship's engine room and the vessel's officers had given the order to evacuate the liner, Sky said. The liner was called the Calypso, but its ownership, route and the nationalities of passengers were not immediately known, Sky said.
