CAS rejects Saqlain's appeal against suspension
Lausanne, May 6 (UNI) Volatile Pakistan captain Muhammad Saqlain could not get his three-match suspension waived as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) here dismissed his appeal against the punishment.
Saqlain was handed a three-match ban by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) after the Pakistani midfielder was found guilty of hitting Australian tackler Craig Victory in a match during the four-nation Hamburg Masters in Germany in August last year.
With CAS dismissing his appeal against the suspension, Saqlain will have to miss the next three matches that Pakistan plays in any FIH world-level event.
In addition, CAS has also ordered Saqlain to pay 3.000 swiss franc to the International Hockey Federation.
