Bellary records highest temp of 40 degree celsius

Bangalore, May 6 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by local meterological centre at 0830 hours today..

The rainfall occurred at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

The chief rainfall amounts (cm): Sankeshwar 5; Nippani 3; Bijapur, Dharwad, Belgaum Airport, Bandipura, Madikeri 2 each; Subramanya, Udupi, Belgaum City, Haveri, Hidkal, Chikmagalur one each.

Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were above normal at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka.

Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 40.0 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until the Monday morning : Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at isolated places over the State.

Farmers forecast : Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka and Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Koppal, Bagalkote and Bijapur districts of North Interior Karnataka and at Bellary, Chitradurga and Davanagere districts of South Interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Bangalore city : Partly cloudy. Maximum temperature would be around 34 degree celsius.
