5 killed in road accident in AP village

Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, May 6(UNI) Four persons, including a woman, were burnt alive while her two-year-old child died of head injuries, when they were hit by a speeding lorry at Kaikapuram village of Choutuppal mandal in this district today.

According to police, Ashok Reddy, riding a motorbike with his wife Parimala (28) and son Revanth Reddy (2), suddenly applied breaks. Two persons Narender Reddy (35) and Arun Kumar Nair, riding on a scooter hit the bike, meanwhile a speeding lorry following behind hit both the vehicles and dragged them almost 50 metres.

The impact, led to petrol spilling out from the two-wheelers and the vehicles caught fire. Parimala, Narender Reddy along with lorry's driver and cleaner were burnt alive. The child Revanth Reddy succumbed to head injuries.

"Both the motorcycles were completely gutted," the police added.

Conditon of Ashok Reddy and Arun Kumar, admitted to Kamineni Hospitals here was stated to be critical.
