Thiruvananthapuram, May 6 (UNI) Police today raided three hotels in the city and freed 16 child labourers from neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
Acting on a tip-off police conducted raids in three hotels in the city and took them into custody.
The rescued children, aged between 14 and 17, had been working as labourers in the hotels for a long time.
No case has been registered against the hotel management. The hotels were warned not to engage children.
Police also directed them to send the children back to their native place and obtain a certificate from the concerned police station that they were handed over to their parents safely, police sources said.
