Uma's supporters take exception to painting their leader in bad ligh
New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) Two leaders of the newly formed Bharatiya Janashakti Party of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today took strong exception to the newspaper reports describing her as 'fickle minded' and said such description by the newspapers was inappropriate.
Party's national Vice President Sangha Priya Gautam and Trasurer Anita Singh, in separate statements, said it was improper on the part of the newspaper to compare Ms Bharti with Pramod Mahajan.
''Ms Bharti has been a sadhvi working for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society and to describe her in such words was ridiculous, they said.
Mrs Singh, in a separate release, said that their leader had demonstrated her standing among the people through her Ram Roti pada yatra as well as Janadesh yatra and ''to insult a leader who had ascended to the national stature on her own strength and merit was unfortunate.'' UNI MCN VD RS2034
