Srinagar, May 5 (UNI) ''Nobody will stop Abid Nabi from playing for the Indian cricket team. He has the talent and the age on his side,'' said Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah.
''Abid Nabi has performed well with both the ball and the bat.
Insha Allah (God willing) he will definitely play for Team India,'' he told Doordarshan in an exclusive interview which was telecast last night.
Dr Abdullah said he will approach Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sharad Pawar and others with a request that Abid Nabi should be a given a chance to play for the Indian team.
''The cricket team has players from all over the country. Even Abid Nabi has the right to play for the national team if he is talented. The state too has the right,'' he added.
