MPSCW to investigate into girl's suicide

Bhopal, May 5 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Commission for Women (MPSCW) will investigate into the suicide by a girl student of a private engineering college after the management allegedly refused to allow her to take the 2nd year examination due to short attendance.

Ms Sonal Gengele, an Electronic Communication student at JNCT College, hanged herself to death at her residence in Piplani area yesterday after being barred from appearing in the examination.

MPSCW Chairperson Relam Chouhan told UNI that the commission will examine the role of college management in the suicide.

In her suicide note, the student said she had taken the extremisted as she not allowed to give examination.

College Advisory Board member J N Choukse denied the charges saying that around 50 students had been prevented from taking examination due to poor attendance. However, extra classes had been planned for such students, who were given the information.

Mr Choukse said some other reason behind the suicide could not be denied.
