Hyderabad, May 5: Maoists, who have been protesting against the recent encounters in Kadapa and Prakasham districts, yesterday blasted the communication room connecting Giddalur and Cumbham stations on the Guntur-Guntakal route, disrupting train services on the Guntur Bangalore line.

Following the attack, train services on the line were stopped and the bomb disposal squad of the police started searching the track for any possible land mine to blast the tracks.

Several trains including the Guntur-Bangalore Express were stopped on either sides of the railway station for the security of the passengers and were cleared only after the bomb disposal squad cleared the track.

In another attack, Maoists destroyed a wine shop in Mullapadu village in the same district, warning locals not to resort to drinking.
