Left parties celebrate Karl Marx's birth anniversary
Jalandhar, May 5 (UNI) Leaders of various break away Commnist parties in Punjab today celebrated together the birth anniversary of Karl Marx.
The leaders of divergent groups like CPI, CPI(M), CPM Punjab (Pasla) and MCPI assembled here today to participate in the seminar on ''relevance of philosophy of Karl Marx in the present context''.
Leaders like CPI state secretary Jagrup Singh, former CPI legislator Satpal Dang, CPM(Punjab) state secretary Mangat Ram Pasla and MCPI general secretary Jagjit Singh Layalpuri and CPI(M) leader SS Kumar underlined the relevance of philosophy and principles of Karl Marx.
They said the fall of the USSR did not mean the end of Marxist era.
Although today's deliberations were confined only to Marx and his principles, but former MLA Satpal Dang stressed the need of unity among all groups.
Mr Dang said ''If we really want to prove ourselves the followers of Karl Marx then we should discard individual banners and assemble under one banner.'' UNI SS DP OM RS2008
