HIV infected couple tie the knot
Palakkad, Kerala, May 5 (UNI) Parameshwaran and Pushapalatha, both HIV patients, began a new life and took vows to live together till their last breath.
They got married yesterday at the Muthalamada Sneham Charitable Trust in the presence of hundreds of people.
Parameshwaran contracted HIV when he was hospitalised for fever about four years ago while Pushpalatha got the infection from her earlier husband, who died ten months after their marriage in 2001.
The wedding was organised by a charitable trust that has also been working with AIDS and HIV positive patients recently. The two met at the charitable trust and decided to tie the knot.
''They have decided not to have any children. Their whole family and the entire village is with them and more than 1,500 people attended the wedding,'' Muthalamada Sneham Charitable Trust Chairman Sunil Das said.
The couple said they would work with other AIDS patients and spend the rest of their lives spreading awareness about the dreaded disease.
