Gold breaches Rs 10,000 per 10 gm barrier for the first time

New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) For the first time ever, Gold prices today crossed the Rs 10,000 barrier to sell at Rs 10,050 per 10 gm, while silver rose by Rs 600 per kg but did not set any record at the local bullion market today.

Gold went up by Rs 185 per 10 gm at Rs 10,050 as against Rs 9,865 while silver increased to Rs 20,800 per kg compared to Rs 20,200 yesterday.

Gold prices in the international market hovered at 684.10 dollars and silver at 14.10 dollars per troy ounce.

Gold ornaments were selling at Rs 9650 per ten gms and silver delivery at Rs 21,490 per kg while silver coins were quoted at Rs 24,000 for buyers and Rs 24,200 for sellers for 100 pieces.
