Gangster shot dead in court; 2 injured, police shoots 2 gunmen
Gurgaon, May 5 (UNI) In yet another gang war related incident in the city, a gangster was shot dead and two people injured inside a local court here before the police killed two of the assailants this morning.
Six armed men fired at Hardutt (30) at about 0845 hrs while he was being escorted by policemen to a court in connection with a criminal case. He died on the spot, Haryana police said.
Another criminal being produced in the court and a litigant were also injured in the firing.
The police, however, managed to shoot one of the attackers and nabbed another while they were trying to flee. Another attacker was gunned down later at Sohna after a chase.
Inter-gang rivalry was alleged to be the reason behind the killing. Hardutt belonged to Sandeep gang and had 12 cases against him including that of murder, dacoity and loot.
The two dead gunmen--Ravi and Atul--belonged to Hemant gang.
Hemant had been shot dead in similar fashion some time back.
Today, Hardutt was killed and Sandeep's brother Kuldeep was injured in the attack.
Sandeep too had earlier escaped a bid on his life.
Last month another gangster Dharamvir was shot dead in the court.
This was the sixth such incident in Gurgaon in recent times resulting in the death of several persons including a policeman.
