Court turns down bail in medicine scam
Patna, May 05 (UNI) Special CBI judge Jawahar Prasad Ratnesh today rejected the anticipatory bail application of two accused, including former Chief Medical Officer, Rohtas, Dr Ramawtar Prasad, in a case related to multi crore rupee medicine scam.
The judge also turned down the bail of another accused and former head clerk of CMO, Rohtas, Rajkishore Verma in the case known as MSD scam.
The case related to irregularities committed in purchase of medicines of over Rs 2.93 crore from government medical store depot(GMSD) Kolkata in 1991-95 in Rohtas.
The CBI had already submitted a chargesheet in the case against ten accused, including the then assistant director general of GMSD, Kolkata, Randhir Mandal.
