Bangladesh Finance Minister Rahman hospitalised

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) Bangladesh Finance Minister Rahman Saifur, here to attend 39th annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) was hospitalised today due to urinary infection.

Dr C Raghu, heading the team of doctors attending on the 74-year old leader at the Yashoda Hospital, told UNI that Mr Rahman who has been suffering from chronic urinary problem has apparently developed some infection.

He said tests were being conducted to assess his condition and the initial opinion of the doctors was that the infection had spread to the blood.

The minister who was admitted at 1345 hrs was conscious, he said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has directed Information Minister Shabbir Ali to ensure that Mr Rahman got the best treatment.
