AITUC condemns police lathicharge at Hisar

New Delhi, May 5 (UNI) The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) has condemned the police lathicharge at Hisar on Haryana Roadways workers protesting a move to privatise bus services.

In a statement, AITUC dubbed the police action ''brutal'' and criticised the Haryana government for allegedly adopting a ''rigid and confrontationist attitude'' towards the workers.

The union demanded the release of arrested leaders and action against officials who ordered the police action.
