Abbas to meet Olmert after Israeli PM visits US

Ramallah (West Bank), May 5: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will meet Ehud Olmert when the Israeli prime minister returns from a trip to the United States, a senior Abbas aide said today.

Saeb Erekat said Abbas had telephoned Olmert earlier on Friday to congratulate him after Israel's new government was sworn in the day before. Olmert is scheduled to visit Washington later this month, Israeli officials have said.
