A youth arrest in weapon case, remands to police custody

Mumbai, May 5 (UNI) Railway police has arrested a 19-year-old youth, who was saved late night from the hands of angred commuters at Bhandup station of Central Railway when he whipped out a knief over the pitty scuffle.

The Railway police said here today that accused Wasim Nazim Khan (19) was arrested under section 37 (1) of Bombay Police Act for possessing the weapon illegally.

Accused Khan was travelling to Mumbra in Kalyan bound train, he got into an argument with some Bhandup-bound passengers over wanting to stand near the door of the train. The argument turned into heated arguement before the train arrived in Bhandup.

The angry passengers wanted to push him out of the train and thrash him, on which, Khan whipped out a Rampuri knife. However the rusted knife failed to open. Enraged, the passengers beat him up before handing him over to the police.

He was produced before 35th Metropolitan Court at Chhatrapati Shviaji Terminus, who remanded him to police custody till May eight, the sources added.
