Wanted Delhi criminal gunned down in Lucknow

Lucknow, May 4 (UNI) Lucknow Police gunned down a wanted criminal from Delhi in an encounter in Kaiserbagh area of the Uttar Pradesh Capital last night, SSP Ashutosh Pandey said here today.

The slain criminal, Punit Narang, was wanted in connection with a kidnapping from Kapoorthala area in Lucknow last year.

Narang was arrested by Lucknow Police last year, but he managed to escape from custody, Mr Pandey added.

He was basically an auto-lifter and wanted in several auto theft cases.
