University staff Associations demand probe into IGNOU matter
New Delhi, May 4: The All India Universities Karamchari Association today backed the demand for a judicial probe into the irregularities alleged in the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Journalist Sanjay Roy had highlighted the irregularities in his book 'Distance Education Under Seize', accusing IGNOU Vice-Chancellor H P Dixit, Pro VC S C Garg and Mr Sunil Kumar, Joint Secretary in the Human Resource Development Ministry, of misusing their positions.
In a statement here the All India Universities Karamchari Association said it had called a meeting on Sunday to chart out its next course of action in the matter.
Meanwhile, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Staff Association too has supported the IGNOU Staff Association's demand for setting up of an enquiry into the charges against the University heads.
