More than 26 lakh unemployed in N E region

Agartala, May 04 (UNI) More than 26 lakh people are registered unemployed in the North-Eastern region (NE), a latest survey revealed.

Speaking in a three-day vocational camp at Arundhutinagar near here yesterday on 'Manpower, planning and employment,' the Deputy Director General of Union Labour Ministry P B Roy said out of 26 lakh registered unemployed in the N E region, 90 per cent were undergraduate and around 82 per cent have no special training.

''There is no scope of employment in the region in private or public sectors,'' Mr Roy said.
