Leaders across party lines mourn Mahajan's death
New Delhi, May 4: A host of leaders cutting across party lines mourned the death of BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan.
Former Prime Minister and Samajwadi Janata Party Chief Chandrashekhar expressed his grief and said Mr Mahajan was a 'rising' star in the BJP who had made a place for himself despite his young age.
People's Rights Front President Abhimanyu Gulati conveyed his condolances to the bereaved family and said the 'BJP family' had lost a youth icon and a charismatic leader imbued with exceptional organisational skills and an uncanny understanding of political realities.
Loktantrik Janata Front Chief Mukesh Pandey also mourned Mr Mahajan's death and described him as a young 'firebrand' leader.
Yesterday, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit, Delhi Congress Chief Ram Babu Sharma, former Union Minister and Delhi MP Jagdish Tytler had visited the BJP office in the national capital to express their grief.
Ms Dixit said his death was not just a loss for the BJP but for entire the country.
BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman and Delhi MP Vijay Kumar Malhotra and Delhi BJP Chief Harsh Vardhan were among those who suprevised arrangements at the BJP office here.
