Mysore, May 4 (UNI) The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will start at least 30 hotels on the state and national highways for providing quality food items at affordable rates to customers, Transport Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy informed today.

Addressing newspersons here, he said a provision would be made to accommodate private parties in running the hotels. However, the intiative would be from the state government side to avoid complaints from public on poor quality of services and rude behaviour of hotel owners.

Asked about the delay in issuing registration certificates to vehicles, he said the problem was due to scarcity of staff and heavy workload in RTOs. However, the Finance Department had given approval to recruit 150 inspectors for RTOs and the process would be completed in another three months, he assured.

The functioning of RTOs would be streamlined in a phased manner, he added.

Mr Cheluvarayaswamy said the city would get a modern bus stand and a location was yet to be identified for the purpose.

He also informed that he would hold talks with the authorities concerned to begin gas filling stations in the city in the wake of increased number of vehicle users switching over to LPG gas.
