Indefinite cease work by govt employees enters 15th day

Imphal, May 4 (UNI) The indefinite strike, called by the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of all Manipur Government Employees Association and All India Trade Union Congress, entered 15th day today.

The JAC has been demanding hike in pay and allowances, rectification of pay anomalies, conversion of retirement age from 58 to 60 and the adhoc employees in the state be regularised by conducting special DPC.

The JAC today said employees in the public utility services would soon be joining the stir.

Functioning of offices in the hill districts were also affected.

The JAC, however, appealed to all employees to attend offices but to stay away from their duties.
