Gujrat wins boys title, Maharashtra bags girls crown

Gurgaon, May 4 (UNI) Delhi players were left to rue their luck as Gujarat boys blanked them 2-0 in the final while girls from Maharashtra beat them by an identical margin to win the title in the Inter-State Tennis tournament here today.

In the boys under-18 final, Rubal Shandilya won the first set against Vishesh Bhatia but that was everything he could do as the Gujarat player came from behind to beat him 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 to make it 1-0.

The second singles proved a lop-sided affair with Allan Gomes toying with Delhi's Rahul Belwal and dropping just one game to beat him 6-1, 6-0 to make it 2-0 and bag the title.
