Day temp stays appreciably above normal in most parts of India

Pune, May 4 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Assam, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and madhya Maharashtra, were above normal in Meghalaya, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, coastal Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Marathwada, south Tamil Nadu and Kerala and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh and madhya Maharashtra.

They were appreciably below normal in interior Orissa, were below normal in Bihar, Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at isolated places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, south Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and mainly dry weather will prevail over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, north Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya and at isolayted places in Arunachal Pradesh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
