RAMADI, Iraq, May 4 (Reuters) At least five people were killed in the Iraqi city of Ramadi today in what witnesses and police said was a U S air strike on a house.
The U S military said it was not aware of any air strike on a house in Ramadi but was checking the reports.
One police official said up to 13 people may have been killed.
Hospital officials said five people were killed and 15 wounded.
The western city of Ramadi is a stronghold of Sunni Muslim insurgents waging a campaign of bombings and shootings aimed at toppling the Shi'ite-led government and driving out U S forces.
