Arunachal DGP questioned in Jessica murder case

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing into the alleged destruction of evidence into the first investigation into the Jessica Lall murder case, has questioned Arunachal Pradesh Director General of Police Amod Kanth -- the then Joint Commissioner (Southern Range) Delhi.

Sources said Amod Kanth, who was then heading the investigation into the case as Jt Commissioner, was questioned at the police headquarters here yesterday.

Last week the SIT had questioned Special Commissioner (Administration) Y S Dadwal and Additional Commissioner (PM Security) Sudhir Yadav -- then DCP (South) in connection with the case.

Mr Dadwal, was said to be present at the party when the incident took place.

Earlier, the team had also questioned Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vivek Gogia who was then Additional DCP (South) and case Investigating Officer Surendra Sharma.

Model Jessica Lall was allegedly shot dead by Manu Sharma, son of Haryana minister Vinod Sharma, at a posh South Delhi restaurant 'Tamarind Court', where she was serving the bar, on the night of April 29/30, 1999 after she refused to give him a drink as the bar had closed.
