Soz welcomes Indo-Pak agreement on truck and bus service

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Union Minister for Water Resources Saifuddin Soz today welcomed the signing of the Indo-Pak agreement for starting of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad truck service to pave way for cross-LOC trade from July and the commencement of Pooch-Rawalkote bus service from June 19.

In a statement, Prof Soz said that these developments would help to the normalise relations between two countries and would hasten peace process. " Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should be hailed for providing sagacious statesmanship after his assumption of office", he said.

The people of Jammu and Kashmir are happy and were grateful to the Prime Minister for initiating measures that would boost the economy of the state. The truck service will offer Horticulture and Handicrafts of the state and usher in an era of great prosperity, he added.
