Indian embassy gifts books to Aurobindo Mandir Trust

Kathmandu, May 3: In a bid to strengthen economic and social ties between the two countries, Indian Abassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee gifted books to Sri Aurobindo Yoga Mandir Trust in Thankot here.

The books, worth Nepali Rs 57,436, will benefit the underprivileged children of the Yoga Mandir Trust, the Indian embassy yesterday said in a release.

As part of its commitment to strengthen educational infrastructure in Nepal under India-Nepal economic cooperation, apart from gifting books and other educational aids, the Indian Government is undertaking and implementing 62 school projects in 29 different districts in the Himalayan nation, the release added.

These school projects will be benefiting 64,000 students in the mountainous nation directly.

''India's commitment in strengthening and diversifying bilateral relations with Nepal through economic cooperation in education, health and other infrastructure is steadfast and will further strengthen and diversify in the future,'' the embassy said.
