Hearing into bail plea by Nischol brothers adjourned till May 6

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) The bail application of Bollywood actor of yesteryears Navin Nischol and his brother Pravin came up for hearing before the additional sessions court today and, was adjourned till May 6.

After hearing arguments for and against the bail, additional session judge N D Deshmukh adjourned the matter till May 6 as the investigations are yet to be completed. The police custody of the accused also expires on May 6.

The Nischol brothers were arrested on April 28 on the suspicion of abetting the suicide of Navin's wife Geetanjali who had ended her life at her Mahim residence on April 22.

While urging for the bail, the counsel for the Nischol brothers, Ashok Murgandi, contended that his clients have extended full cooperation to the investigating officers and would be available whenever they were required. Their further custody was, therefore, not needed.

After their arrest on April 28, the Nischol brothers were produced before additional chief metropolitan magistrate J B Pankhe who had remanded them in police custody till May 6.
