Suicide bomber, passer-by killed in Afghan blast

KABUL, May 2 (Reuters) A suicide car-bomber attacked foreign troops near the Afghan capital Kabul today, killing himself and a passer-by, Aghan police said.

Violence has intensified in Afghanistan in recent months with scores of people killed in clashes and roadside and suicide blasts.

The blast on a main road just to the northeast of Kabul killed a man with a donkey cart beside the road, said provincial police official Maulana Sayedkhail.

He said he did not know the identify of the foreign troops targeted.

NATO peacekeepers had sealed off the site of the blast but a Reuters reporter who got to the scene said he saw a human head on the road.

A NATO spokesman said the force was investigating.
