Sensex in bullish move up 200 pts to 12,275

Mumbai, May 2 (UNI) Markets touched new all time high this morning both on the Bombay and National Stock Exchanges (BSE/NSE) backed by good fourth quarter results (Q4) of top companies.

Sensex traded 220 points up at 12,263 at 1058 hrs and Nifty traded 53 points up at an all time high of 3,610 at 1109 hrs.

Even though the crude oil prices hovered above USD 73 per barrel the bulls seemed unstoppable this morning.

After last Friday's 490 point fall the markets have been rising very firmly and gained 190 points on Saturday too in the three-hour special live trade to 12,042 points.

Earlier today, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) opened higher with a gap of 61 points at 12,103.78 as compared to the last close of 12,042 points and soon crossed the 12,200 mark touching a high of 12,275.44 in the first hour of trading.

Earlier the National Stock Exchange (NSE) S&P CNX Nifty index too opened flat at 3,557.35 and touched a high of 3,616.00.

There was an across the board rally in the market this morning and all sectoral indices were in the green with more than one per cent gain.

BSE Health Care index was having a phenomenal run by 4.04 per cent, Dr Reddy's Lab was up by 15.16 per cent to Rs 1,648.90 and Ranbaxy was up by 8.98 per cent to Rs 515.

BSE metal index was also up by 2.35 per cent and BSE bankex index was up by 2.33 per cent.

The BSE midcap and smallcap indices too were up by 1.73 per cent and 1.88 per cent, respectively.

The top gainers on the BSE Sensex were Dr Reddy's Lab, Ranbaxy, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, ACC, HDFC Bank, Grasim Industries, Maruti, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto.

ICICI Bank had a block deal of 10.2 lakh shares this morning in the Foreign Institutional Investor's segement at Rs 615 per share, the scrip was up by 3.35 per cent to Rs 610 this morning around 1110 hrs.

Other big gainers were Gujarat Ambuja Cements up by 2.22 per cent to Rs 126.80. Reliance Industries was also up by 1.35 per cent to Rs 1,035.50.

ITC was also up by 2.11 per cent to Rs 208 per share. Cipla, Tata Motors, Infosys and TCS were also up by more than a per cent each.

The losers on the Sensex was just one company Tata power trailing by 0.03 per cent at Rs 553.
