Jalandhar, May 2 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann today criticised the government fornot banning the BJP's ongoing ''Rastriya Suraksha Yatra'' and said his party would stop it when it passes through Punjab on May four and five.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Mann said there was no no threat to security of the Hindus in the country and the ''yatra is solely aimed at creating terror among minorities.'' He said the Centre as well as State governments should have banned the yatra as it is against the principles of secularism.
''Therefore, my party opposes the yatra and urges the government to stop it. If the government does not stop, my party workers would hold protest and will not allow the yatra to pass through Punjab without a contest,'' Mr Mann said.
However, his party's contest and protest would be totally peaceful and democratic, he clarified.
