Rahul again targets UP govt on development turf

Rae Bareli, UP, May 2 (UNI) Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi today reiterated his allegation that the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government was neglecting development works in Rae Bareli.

''My mother (Congress president Sonia Gandhi) and I have taken firm resolve to usher in development in Rae Bareli,'' Rahul said addressing several election meetings in the Satawan assembly constituency here.

Sonia is seeking re-election to the Lok Sabha from Rae Bareli constituency.

Rahul -- who is Sonia's campaign manager -- has been addressing such public meetings since April 25 in the run up to the May 8 LS bypoll.

''We have an old ''family terms'' with the Gandhi family,'' Rahul reminded the local people.

The Congress leader starts off at 0800 in the morning and interacts with the electorate and local party leaders till late in the night.

The Rae Bareli bypoll was necessitated following the resignation of Ms Gandhi from the LS seat on March 23 over the post of profit controversy.
